A glass eye focuses to shutter
Life is trapped in fleeting light
Still and translucent
Can you see what I see?
Can I show you?
Never mind the dull and the mundane
To capture random brilliance or accidental beauty
Where shadow reveals rather than limits
And color dances with dormant perception
Maybe we are dying
Perhaps beginning to fade
But I will show you what I saw
I will show you what life meant to me
When I was young and bursting
And I still begged for more
